Figma and Sanrio Bring 12 Hello Kitty and Friends Characters to FigJam, With a New York Pop-Up

Figma and Sanrio announced a collaboration on 2 November 2026 that puts Hello Kitty and Friends inside FigJam. Twelve characters are available, including Hello Kitty, My Melody, Keroppi, Tuxedosam, Pochacco and Chococat. The characters are live from 1 November for one week, with the posts giving 8 November as the end date.
Each character comes with its own theme. That covers a custom cursor, washi tape and a sticky note palette, with colours named after character backstories, such as Pochacco's "Running Red". Clicking triggers confetti, character stamps are included, and there are Sanrio frames for FigJam's photobooth widget. Hello Kitty also appears while files load.
Figma says Sanrio supplied hundreds of illustrations and assets, which the team converted into scalable vectors. Figma Motion was used for the loading animation, and the Figma agent handled bulk edits. It is a neat showcase for those tools, and also a reminder that licensed artwork has to be rebuilt carefully to behave well in a product.
The physical side is just as considered. A free pop-up at 12 East 14th Street in New York runs on 7 and 8 November, with a photobooth on Allen Street on 6 and 7 November. Swag includes keychains, sticker packs and sweatshirts, and more than 60 community meetups are planned around the world.
From a branding point of view, this is a good case of a collaboration with a shared tone. A tool built for work gets a playful skin, and a character brand gets an unfamiliar, practical home. Neither side has to pretend to be the other.
For studios like ours, the interesting lesson is in the detail. Naming a colour after a character's story and giving each character its own cursor is the sort of small decision that makes licensed work feel designed, not pasted on. We see the same thing in our own brand collaboration work, where the idea is usually less important than the care taken over the small touches.
Because the characters are only in FigJam for a week, anyone who wants to try them has until the end of 8 November.
