Figma Weave's Image and Video Models Now Work From Any MCP Agent, but Watch the Credits

On 26 October 2026 Figma announced that all the video and image models available through Weave can now be accessed from external AI agents via the Figma MCP. Generations consume Weave credits.

The convenience is real. If your team already uses a coding or design agent, it can now ask for an image or a video clip without anyone leaving the tool, and the output lands in the same workflow as the rest of the project. For quick concept boards and placeholder assets that is a good shortcut.

The risk is spend. An agent that can call a video model can also call it forty times in a loop, and credits do not come back. Before connecting anything, decide who owns the credit pool, set a sensible limit, and make the agent tell you what it is about to generate when a request looks large.

Our rule is to use generated media for exploration, not for delivery. A picture that proves an idea is fine. A picture that ships to a client needs a person to check the details, the licence terms of the model used, and whether it matches the brand. Treat the agent as a fast sketch artist, and keep the final judgement with a designer.
