Five Years of Amazon Events: One Brand Language, Many Stages

ZKO blog tile: Studio

Long-running client work teaches things a single project cannot. Over five years and more, we have shaped events for Amazon at very different scales, from large conference-style activations built for presenting, down to clean exhibition stands carrying the Amazon style. The venues change and the countries change, but the brand language has to stay recognisable.

The first lesson is that consistency is a system, not a look. A conference stage and a ten-minute exhibition stand share almost nothing in size, so copying the same layout fails. What carries across is the set of rules: typography, colour, how product and message are balanced, and the amount of space left empty.

The second lesson is about scale. A presenting space is built for an audience watching one thing. A stand is built for people walking past, each giving it a few seconds. We design the stage for sightlines and screen content, and the stand for the first glance, and then check that both could only belong to the same brand.

The third is that repetition builds speed. When a team has built for a client for years, the briefing gets shorter and the decisions get better. We know which materials survive transport, which lighting rigs a venue will actually allow, and which details nobody notices until they are wrong.

3D gives us a common reference for all of it. We build each space as a model, so the client can review the stage, the stand and the flow before fabrication, and so changes between events start from a shared file rather than from memory.

The same approach runs through our other long relationships, including Marriott, IHG and Radisson, where one modular kit has to work in a different city every time. Amazon is simply the longest example.

If you are running events across several venues and finding the brand drifting, the fix is usually a clearer system rather than more reviews. Our events and exhibitions page shows the work, and our Marlow studio can talk through building yours.
