Maxim Comms: Selling Global Events in a Single Scroll

Maxim Comms runs conferences and events at global scale, which is a harder website brief than it first sounds. The site has to sell the scale and expertise of the business to a client evaluating an events partner, while also being genuinely useful to delegates trying to find details about a specific event they are already attending. Those are two different jobs competing for the same homepage.
We solved that by treating credibility and utility as separate layers rather than trying to blend them into one generic layout. The top of the site is built to sell: a fast moving showcase of past events, scale and reach, aimed at a prospective client sizing Maxim up. Beneath that, event specific information is structured clearly enough that someone who already knows they are attending a Maxim run event can get to logistics without wading through brand messaging meant for someone else entirely.
Motion plays a real role here. Events businesses are selling energy and production values as much as logistics competence, so we used purposeful, restrained motion, transitions between showcased events, subtle movement on key imagery, to convey that energy without tipping into the kind of over animated site that actually slows a visitor down or feels dated within a year.
The result reads less like a typical corporate services site and more like a well produced show reel that happens to also handle event logistics cleanly. For a business whose product is largely about a feeling of scale and polish delivered in person, the website's job is to give a first impression of that same quality before anyone has attended a single event.
We also had to design for a genuinely mixed audience visiting the same domain for very different reasons, a procurement lead comparing agencies against a shortlist, a delegate looking for a venue address an hour before a session starts. Rather than forcing both into one navigation structure, we let context guide people to the right layer quickly: event specific pages are built to be findable straight from a search engine or a QR code on printed material, without ever routing a delegate through the agency's sales pitch to get there.
